The none thing that bothers me, here, is that people associate the Islam RELIGION as a race…It is NOT any such thing. If you wish to wear a hijab, that’s fine. It doesn’t stop me hating the religion or its influence on people in other countries, or my own. I feel the same way about Christianity and Judaism. They are not races. They are beliefs.There are African, Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic, etc…people in ALL THREE, and it’s the same for Hinduism, Buddhism, and so on. My issues are with religion, and the fact that people treat it like a race issue. It is not. To me, religion is all the same. I agree that reading ABOUT the middle-east makes no sense, but knowing the religion as a whole, having read the koran, and thinking it through as I did with the bible, there is nothing good about it…Call it the religion of peace all you like. Islam, like Christianity, uses a couple lines of “love thy neighbor” type phrases to keep all the horrible things the books say from seeming so wrong. I am fine with people believing in something, but I will not respect the religion just because people think it’s a race issue, nor will I respect it because people believe in it. I do, and I always will, believe that religion is the worst thing for the world these days. It drives people to violence and hate, and it keeps inequality alive. If you believe in a god/gods and associate with a specific religion, that’s fine, but don’t tell me to respect it when said religion brings out such hate and death in the world. I will not overlook women being beaten to death in the streets, gays being hanged or disallowed to marry, rape-shaming, holding back science, faith healing which leads to the deaths of children, or anything of the sort…There is too much that religion does that is unforgivable, and I await the day it no longer exists…I know I’ll never see it, but I wish I could. Please…STOP making religion out to be a race, and stop treating it like some great thing that deserves respect. It REALLY isn’t.

It was Muslims who discovered that the Earth was round 500 years before Galileo did.

Just imagine a world without Muslims. Now I think you probably meant, JUST IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT TERRORISTS. And then I would agree, the world would definitely be a better place without those pieces of filth. But to hold a whole group responsible for the actions of a few is ignorant and racist. No one would ever expect Christians or White people to be held responsible for the acts of Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma bombing) or Andreas Brevik (Norway killing), or the gun man that shot Congresswoman Giffords in head, wounded 12 and killed 6 people, and rightly so because they had nothing to do with those incidents! Just like the rest of the 1.5 billion Muslims have nothing to do with this incident!

Apart from the fact that many items on that list were also independently discovered by other nations (particularly Asian ones) and we would still have most if not all of them eventually due to globalisation, THIS.

I didn’t realize any of these things required RELIGION to be created. Science made these. Muslim is NOT a race, it’s a religious standpoint. PLEASE stop treating it like one. Christianity is a religion, Judaism is a religion, Islam is a religion. They are all the same fucking thing! And they are all outdated and worthless now.

THANK YOU!!! Seriously, if you want to believe in faeries and unicorns go ahead. We can’t technically /prove/ they don’t exist, but it’s the same thing as god. Without evidence, why believe in it? Why does god get more credit than leprechauns? I mean, there are LOADS of books and stories about all those other things, some even claiming to have some historical reality to them. Hell, many MANY other gods have the same deal! Zeus, Thor, Native American spirits and gods, so what makes your god so special? We’ve basically pushed aside and discredited the gods of the Greeks and Norse, so why is the Christian/Muslim/Jewish/Mormon god, or any of the Hindu gods for that matter, still believed in? Is tradition REALLY that necessary to some people? I mean, neither history nor science can find any REAL evidence to uphold any religion’s claims. Without evidence, there is no reason to believe. It really IS that simple.

I’m not deaf to the thousands if not millions of people saved by the hospitals powered from nuclear plants. I’m not deaf to the voices of thousands of scientists who thanks to nuclear theory managed to broaden our knowledge and push its frontier, thus saving another millions of people.

I am not deaf to the voices of countless people whose cancer was treated thanks to radioactivity.

You’re trying to equate religion and science, and that will never be possible. Mainly due to the fact that science describes what the world we live in is and leaves the decision to how to use that knowledge to us, whereas religion has abuse, division, hatred and toxicity as well as death and suffering in it’s very core.

Surely you can try to claim that it’s not religion, it’s the people and thus it’s the same as science, which is a lie. There is nothing in science that says to kill those who do not accept a given theory. It is in the religion. There is nothing in the science that says you’re pathetic piece of crap, whereas there is a CENTRAL element of what 2 billion people believe in.

And last but not lest - that was not scientists that bombed Hiroshima and/or Nagasaki. Those were politicians, many of which were believers.

In the meantime people who flew planes into skyscrapers, bombed abortion clinics or raped 5 year old girls - were all religious and did it PRECISELY because of their religion.

So don’t be dishonest and embrace the truth. It doesn’t hurt - it’s awesome.

I believe in God and His love and goodness. I believe that Jesus died for me. I have faith.
But my head isn’t buried in the sand, I’m not ignorant. Science is factual.

I believe in God and science. I wish more people were open-minded like me, rather than being all for one or the other.

Hmm…I do believe it’s lying women…Besides, Mary was supposedly already married to Joseph, so HOW WAS SHE A VIRGIN ANYWAY?! Was she just terrified of sex? I know that DOES happen in rare cases. But if she was so terrified of sex, I am pretty sure the pain of child birth, even if it was “god’s child” would have been even worse. So there are a few possibilities here: 1.she’s a lying cow, 2.god’s an idiot for thinking a married woman would be a virgin, 3.Mary lied about her chastity to her own husband, 4.god actually DID rape a woman who was terrified of sex and/or child birth so she could bear his kid, and 5. none of this happened. I mean I am sure there are other possibilities too, but I don’t really want to think through it all right now.
